Product Description
EPICIN Biological Aquaculture Treatment is a natural microbial ecosystem, with added stabilizers and growth stimulants, for detoxifying aquaculture grow-out ponds and hatcheries. It eliminates water-fouling waste products such as ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and hydrogen sulfide, thereby providing a healthier environment for aquatic animal growth. It also improves animal health and disease resistance by creating a probiotic environment.
EPICIN derive from natural sources and are produced under high quality control conditions to prevent contamination by hazardous microorganisms. They are fermented on a naturally derived carbohydrate base that gives the product its general, granular appearance. The microbes in EPICIN are grown to as high a concentration as possible to provide the user with as effective a product as possible.
EPICIN is formulated with all natural, non-pathogenic microorganisms that are approved by the USA FDA and USDA for use in animal feeds. EPICIN is not formulated with potentially hazardous Pseudomonas bacteria, as are some competitive products. While the EPICIN organisms microscopic, they – along with the enzymes they secrete – are powerful , living “engines” that love to consume waste.
Mode of Action
As a result of the genetic coding possessed by the microbes in EPICIN, ammonia and nitrites are rapidly consumed over a wide range of pH, temperature and salinity conditions. The microorganisms utilize nitrogen bearing wastes in their metabolic processes to produce microbial protein as part of their natural growth and reproduction .
The microorganisms in EPICIN establish a strong natural bacterial culture in the hatchery water which suppresses the growth of harmful bacteria such as vibrio sp. Also, the microbes in EPICIN are capable of excreting natural bacteriostats, called bactocillins, which repel harmful bacteria.
